Game Description

Your Town Master has finally managed to wrangle your group down for a session of your long-running campaign of Taxes & Traders. He's got a new event set up, the town's spring fair, and each of your merchants has a booth. However, as you pick up your dice to roll for table placement in the vendor hall, something shifts in the room. What were once the walls of the room melt away, your backpacks fading from view as your clothes switch to those of your merchants and stalls appear around you. Seems you've been sucked into the game, but with no TM to lead your way and a strange mist in the air, you suspect that this session may be a bit more hands on than usual.

Gryphonian University is based on the O-week module of the same name run by the Board game and TTRPG club. You will take on the role of university students in a fantasy world, taking classes in a magical version of the University of Guelph. Taxes and Traders is the in-world version of DnD, where instead of fighting enemies with magic or weapons (something every student is frustratingly familiar with), you run some sort of shop in a little town and have to deal with interpersonal drama and resource management.

Players can bring their own character sheet for a Lv 5 character, though pre-mades will also be provided. Classes and sub-classes are to be pulled from the 2014 Player's Handbook only, though species/race can come from 2014 PHB or 2014 Volo's. Characters from past Gryphonian games are also accepted, though be aware the difficulty level is higher than the usual drop-in games.
Players may also (if they wish) create their merchant character who they will be taking the place of in game. No stats are needed for this merchant, just their general appearance, shop (ex. butcher, coffee shop, etc.), name and personality. Pre-made merchants will also be provided for those that do not wish to make their own.
